Kleton Catalogue Cover Design

Kleton needed an updated catalogue for their products, and I was tasked with designing it. The previous catalogue was outdated design and product wise, so it needed a re-fresh with the updated branding and products. The biggest challenge was coming up with an original cover design that stood out from competitor’s catalogues; while maintaining Kleton’s branding such as imagery, fonts and colour pallet.

DESIGN PROCESS

For research, I looked competitor’s catalogues and took notes on common themes. For example, with Grainger’s catalogues they are use 1-5 application shots contained in boxes, and I drew inspiration from that while brainstorming.

I used images that showed the diverse range of products Kleton has to offer, from packaging materials to custom material handling products. Because Kleton underwent a total re-brand, the typography background images, and colour pallet was all predetermined and final.

CONCLUSION

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, the cover I had created was not chosen and at the last minute I had to redesign the cover. The entire graphics team and multiple departments do prefer my original design over the rushed chosen one.
