As a Graphic Design intern at Design Shopp, I was tasked with creating a logo for one of their clients, The Lena Fund. They were organizing an event called the Rainbow Rally to raise money and awareness for children with leukemia. The event was an in-car scavenger hunt that took place in the city of Pointe Claire, Quebec.
Because this event was happening under the Lena Fund, I drew most of my inspiration from their website to keep the branding relatively similar. I noticed pastel‑coloured rainbows was a common theme, so I knew I would incorporate that into the logo. I also made the decision to add a car into the logo because it was part of the event.
In the end the client loved the logo design and thought that it was cleverly done. They loved the fact that on one end of the rainbow was a car and on the other end was a location pin (also the “o” in “rainbow”). It really visualized the car traveling on the rainbow to the destination. They used the logo on all their branded materials such as banners, flyers and more.
